Congratulations to Mahopac High School senior Cooper Grimm, who has been selected to perform on tuba with the 2026 NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band. Grimm earned his spot through outstanding results at the NYSSMA All-State evaluations this past spring, placing him among a select group of student musicians from across New York State chosen for the prestigious ensemble.
The 2026 NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band will perform Dec. 3-6 in Rochester, with the performance taking place at the Eastman Theatre. Grimm, who also serves as drum major for the Mahopac High School marching band, said he was excited to learn that he had been selected and is looking forward to performing with musicians from across the state later this year.
Band Director Richard Williams said Grimm’s selection reflects his dedication to music and leadership within the Mahopac program.
“Cooper is a dedicated and accomplished musician who brings a tremendous amount of commitment to everything he does,” Williams said. “As the drum major of our marching band, he has also become an important leader for his fellow musicians. We are very proud of him and excited to see him represent Mahopac at All-State.”
