Outhouse Orchard Kindergartners

Lakeview Elementary’s kindergartners recently spent a beautiful fall day at Outhouse Orchards, where they experienced all the joys of the season, from picking pumpkins and apples to taking a scenic hayride, exploring a corn maze and playing outdoor games. The trip ended on a sweet note as students enjoyed freshly made apple cider donuts.

The field trip wasn’t just fun; it also offered meaningful learning experiences. Visiting a farm helps kindergartners understand the world around them, connecting directly to core areas of the curriculum such as science, social studies and health.

“The kids had so much fun while learning,” kindergarten teacher Shannon O’Shea said. “They were able to see, touch and experience so many things we talk about in the classroom, from how apples grow to the changing seasons. Trips like this bring our lessons to life and create memories the students will never forget.”
