Fulmar Road Elementary School kindergartners are learning and celebrating as they count down the final days of the school year with an ABC-themed activity calendar. To mark the letter “I,” students were treated to a visit from an ice cream truck, bringing smiles, laughter and a cool treat on a warm day.
While the ABC countdown is a fun tradition, it’s also a meaningful part of the kindergarten experience. The activity reinforces letter recognition, sequencing and calendar skills which are important components of early literacy and math development.
Each day highlights a new letter and theme, keeping the students engaged while reinforcing classroom routines. From “A” for artist day where the kindergartners created works of art, to “Z” for zoom into summer, the countdown helps students reflect on how much they’ve learned and grown throughout the school year.
